HB 1492: Anesthesiologist Assistants Licensure

NEW! H1492: Anesthesiologists Assistants Licensure introduced in the North Carolina General Assembly.

Reps. Bob England (D-Rutherford) and Jim Harrell (D-Surry) introduced legislation today (House Bill 1492) to license anesthesiologist assistants (AAs) to practice in North Carolina.  You may review the text of HB 1492 using the following link - HB1492: Anesthesiologist Assistants Licensure.

As highlighted in the NCANA-NCSA joint announcement released on Wednesday, April 11th, the North Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists has agreed not to oppose this legislation.  Even without the NCANA's opposition, NCSA members must still convince a majority of the NC House of Representatives to support HB 1492.

Please contact House members in your area and ask them to support (and co-sponsor if possible) HB 1492 and help improve access to anesthesia care in North Carolina.  You will find specific talking points that you may use with legislators in asking them to support HB 1492 on our website.

As always, thank you for your efforts on behalf of the NCSA's legislative agenda and please let us know if you have any questions.
